Is it still the Westin?

Best ever in my 10,000 hotel nights was at a Ritz Carlton.

Does this go with your "best pool in Florida" question??

Are we including B & B's, resorts, home stays, motels or just hotels ? Major chains, franchises, family-onwed ?

I've never found any of them really comfortable. In general, they are way too soft. I can only sleep well on a really hard mattress.

The Marriott Magnificent Mile in Chicago. In general, Marriott beds (and Westins) are super-comfortable, but this was beyond comfortable (or maybe I was just more tired!)

NYT - you should travel in Egypt, the beds tend to be rock hard in nice hotels.

The Marriott - I've been known to cancel face-to-face meetings so I could stay in bed and teleconference.

The most comfortable hotel bed I've stayed in was at the "W" on Park Ave.

It was perfect!

We had a VERY comfortable bed at a Marriott near Disneyland. It was the Marriott at 700 West Convention Way.

I've last couple times I've stayed at a Hilton, the beds were soooo comfy.

I agree that Marriott consistently has better beds than most.

DH and I love the Hyatt bed. When we have to replace our current mattress and box springs, we may even buy one!

We love Marriott beds; just lying in that bed feels like a vacation to me! We've even ordered their pillows off their website. They sell all the linens, etc. online.

I don't know about hotel chains... but the two most comfortable hotel beds I ever stayed in were The Post Ranch in California and The Hay Adams in Washington, DC.

volcanogirl, we got the pillows, too!! Now I'm trying to find the blanket from the bed at the Renaissance Chancery Court in London -- I think I 'm going to have to call them!

THANKS SO MUCH for the info about the pillows. my husband did search and rescue after katrina and stayed at the renaissance in NO and has talked about the good pillows EVER SINCE. i think we've spent $500 on pillows that he thought was the same one but wasn't. i'm going to get him one for his 50th birthday!!
should make him happy and i won't have to hear about it anymore!

But I must admit way back when I stayed at a Westin and come home and bought all new bedding because of their heavenly beds. That was in Cancun too.

Without a doubt, the Rydges Hotel Canberra, Australia.
I am a Qantas Flight Attendant, and every crew member I know, talks about how much they love Canberra overnights, purely because of how great the beds are. You can actually buy their beds from their web site, and I know a few people who have even bought them!
