Which Disneyworld Monorail Resort?

Going to Disneyworld in November with a big (29 yr. old ) kid - who's never been there before. My first experience at Disneyworld was a wonderful one, at the Polynesian. I'm thinking of something different for him - and I remember being in awe of the Contemporary years ago. A monorail resort is a must - it's the ultimate Disney experience I think (pricey as it is) - but is the Contemporary a solid choice? I appreciate your feedback!

Stayed at Contemporary in 1974 (!) on my high school senior trip, it was terrific. Check Deb Wills unofficial guide at www.wdwig.com for recent trip reports, etc. GEt a Magic Kingdom Club card and go during the off-season for best rates. Don't miss the Adventurer's Club at Pleasure Island - it has my favorite shows, pure Disney!

Contemporary all the way. Have stayed there many times with my big kid(!!!). IMO our favorite but we do experiment, next time it will be the Boardwalk.

We have stayed at the Polynesian and the Contemporary and I think the Polynesian is much nicer.

The Contemporary is convenient to everything and an experience if you stay in the North Tower. Have fun!

I recently stayed in the main building at The Grand Floridian after trying most of Disneys hotels and i think it was the best by far.The downside is it probably is the most expensive.Goodluck Colin

You can't beat the layout at the Polynesian. It's a very nice resort, recently refurbished. You'll have fun either way!

We stayed in one of the outside rooms (by which I mean not part of the tower) in the Contemporary last year and it was a little run down and I didn't think so great, especailly for the price! I think the Grand Floridian is the nicest. It's a beautiful hotel.

I think the GF is a nice, luxurious way to spend your time in WDW; but you have to be willing to pay handsomely for it. It's a classy place though.

Try the Wilderness Lodge. It is not on the monorail but it does have a boat that runs to the Kingdom. I think it is the best of all.

Of course, the GF is really the hands down winner but we have to eat while we are there & when we get home!
