Which Cleveland restaurants (Metropolitan, Circo, BluePoint, Mallorca, Johnny's)?

Will be in Cleveland for 2 nights the end of this month and have narrowed down dinner selections in the downtown area to:
Metropolitan Cafe
Circo
Blue Point Grille
Mallorca
Johnny's

All have great reviews but can only pick two! Want one to be fairly casual (?Mallorca) and the second choice can be more upscale casual. Any recommendations in choosing?

Definitely make Mallorca one of your stops. As for the other, I would suggest either Johnny's or Blue Point Grille.

It's not on your list, but what about The Watermark in the flats. Nice seafood restaurant and afterwards you can go for a drink at one of the many places down there. Have fun.

Cheryl,
My favorite restaurant in Cleveland is Blue Pointe. Seafood is their specialty. My favorite dish is the grouper and I'm truly not a fan of fish. I understand Johnny's is a great restaurant as well. You probably won't go wrong with either one.

Just had dinner at Metropolitan Cafe (11/9/02) and once again was not impressed, especially for the $ spent. I used to live and work in CLE and based on your list my suggestions would be:

1. Tied Johhnys and Blue Point
2. Mallorca

Haven't been to Circo and after my last dinner (5 in total)I will stop going there. Although, they do have wood fired pizzas that are good, but for an entree, no more.
