Where's the integrity?
Curious if anyone has had this problem with Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. I put my vehicle with the valet, when I retrieved my vehicle it had a dent in the door. After 20 minutes security and head of valet finally appear to begin the paperwork process, they state to me that they have camera on all vehicles from the time you hand it over to the valet to the time you get your vehicle back. Great, I say knowing that it will show my new car with no damage. They state that customer relations will call within 5 days to proceed forward, again great. Needless to say I had to call them more than 7 times in three weeks getting the same story valet has not pulled the video yet. Finally they call to say they will not be paying for the damage, as they don't believe it was done there. Since security told me that if my car was damage before entering the valet, I could see it in their video, I requested a copy since I knew there was no way possible it was damaged prior to the valet. Their response is SUBPOENA us and maybe you'll be able to obtain a copy. Where's the integrity. Customer relations wouldn't say that the vehicle was damaged before entering their garage, just that they felt they were not responsible and that I could NOT see the video. Hard to recommend places like that, I'm sure it's more common that I know.

Can you file a claim against them in Small Claims Court? I had this happen some years ago with a service station where I left my car for an oil change.
I am not one to sue but I was treated the same way. They also had video cameras but refused to allow us to view the video. They said the right side door of my car was bashed in when I brought it into then, which it was not.
I won in Small Claims Court!!! Besides the money it was the principal of the matter. Sure know how you feel. Best wishes.

Don't give up until you are reimbursed. Call their corparate offices every day on their toll free number. Talk to every possible person in charge there. Always get Names. Keep a log of calls and conversations. Write letters and emails. Eventually they will break or mess up their story.

Another option: look up the names of some of the corporate officers. then call the office - not reservation - phone # and ask to speak to them directly. You will not get them - but hopefully an executive assistant who can help you get the evidence you need - if not payment.
I have done this several times and it generally works - even with major companies like TimeWarner - since one of the execs jobs is to see that the boss is not disturbed by the things undelings foul up - and are afraid to confesss to management about.
(Have had them come to my house and install cable the same afternoon - even though the next appt was 4 days later, replace a damaged sofa that the "adjuster" said was fine, etc)

This is the same EXACT scenario that happened to my hair stylist here in Las Vegas when he parked at another casino (the Bellagio). His car was returned with a huge dent in the side and he spend 4 hours trying to get a menager to speak to him. The valet even went so far as to commit fraud and wrote that there was a dent on the pick up ticket <after> he handed it to him. So the employees must be lawyered in their responses, because my friend was told the same exact story (get a video, and good luck). He has also spent 2 weeks making phone calls and no one will call back. He is out the deductable from the insurance.
Similarly, I saw a woman pick up her car from the Golden Nugget valet with a huge dent also. I saw her complaining and filling out an accident form.
The valets drive like total maniacs, and for that reason we no longer use them and always self park. I am surprised to hear your story, since it is exactly like my friend's. I guess this happens all the time. So sorry.

Sorry for typos, and I also meant "I am not surprised to hear your story"
Good luck and hopefully you will get somewhere but I wouldn't count on it. My friend gave up. I hope that anyone who reads this will take this message into consideration before parking with a casino valet.

DON'T let them off the hook, even though it will be a pain in the ...
You should probably file a claim in small claims court, but will have to do so in Las Vegas. If you don't live there, call the clerk of the small claims division. They will send you the paperwork and you can see if they will allow you to "appear" by telephone. Otherwise, be sure to let the hotel know you will be seeking your costs incurred in having to appear in person.
After you file the claim and serve it, send the hotel's legal division a letter (personally or through an attorney) offering to settle the matter out of court for the sum you believe is warranted, based on your costs, repair estimates, etc. Legal dept.s HATE small claims stuff and will probabley advise their "client" to settle.
Also, don't assume that they even have a video tape. Does it sound reasonable to you that EVERY car is videotaped during the entire duration of their custody of the car? It doesn't to me.
Bottom line, if you keep the screws to them, you should get the relief you seek. Good luck!

Yes, there is definitely tape of the accident. The casinos have the most state of the art surveillance systems known to man. The problem is getting the tape. From what I have heard on local television it takes years, and you'd better have a lawyer to even try to get one, but I don't think it will happen. The question is if you want to cut your losses and move on or if you have the energy to fight it. It is probably more stress than it's worth. But that's up to the consumer. Best of luck.
