Where to watch the NFL in Chicago
Starting to plan for a trip to Chicago to watch the Bears in the Super Bowl.
I am a huge Eagles fan and thought until yesterday that I'd be back in Jersey to watch the game. But now I am thinking that the Bears are the team to root for on Super Bowl Sunday.
I realize that I am annoying a bunch of other teams that think they have a shot at making the Super Bowl, but those bears look awesome.
I am looking for a really good bar to watch the game on Super Bowl Sunday. I might be interested in Ditka's, but I'd really like to find a very blue collar, neighborhood type bar where the Bear fans will be out of control.
Can you help?

It will be nuts everywhere.
What "end". High end, dive etc.? Makes a difference. There are so many, that all your answers you get here will be rather relative, unless they are downtown. And what age group too?
We have some by me in S & SW areas, more and more of these- that are getting to be high end, but great fun.
There are probably some in River North area or right downtown that might be very nice. But if you want to watch with the Monsters of the Midway blue collar Mzerskicki's you need to go elsewhere.

Since I Just booked my flight for the Super Bowl in Miami I know how you feel. If I was in Chicago I would go to either McGees, Durkins or Duffy's. All are owened by two brothers and they go all out for football games (NFL and college) The bars are located in Lincoln Park and Lakeview and is where the locals hang out. The bars are not yuppie nor blue collar but a mix. (hot college girls too) FYI most bars in the city will have only a package deal for the night. Example $60 all you can eat and drink. It is usually a good deal considering how much you can spend in Chicago. There are a couple hotels in the area that are a lot cheaper than downtown and you will actually get the feel of the great Chicago neighborhoods. Check out Belmont City Suites, Best Western Hawthorne Terrace, Comfort Inn Lincoln Park, City Scene B & B, Days Inn Lincoln Park. These places will be great as they are close to everything including downtown as well as Wrigleyville with 20 bars or so.
When the time gets closer check out Metromix.com. It will have everything you need including hotels-just highlight the neighborhood. Also bar1events.com this is the website for the bars I mentioned earlier, check out the pictures and specials. Good luck and GO Bears!
