I've been to Vancouver and to Vancouver Island twice during the early part of July and experienced wonderful weather! My fiance and I stayed at the Aerie Resort located in Malahat, Vancouver Island located about 30 minutes from Victoria. If you want a romantic getaway, this is definitely the place! Check out their website at www.aerie.bc.ca.

While in Victoria, you must go to the Butchart Gardens. The flowers will be in full color in early July.

While in Vancouver, be sure to take a nice stroll or bike it around the Stanley Park Seawall! And for a romantic dinner, go to The Teahouse Restaurant in Stanley Park. When making reservations, tell them you want reservations just before the sun sets so you can experience the beautiful sunset behind Vancouver Island.

I can go on and on about Vancouver and BC! I absoltely love it there!

Seattle or Victoia. Both have mild temps in the summer and offer alot to do. For something quiet and relaxing try Lake Qunalt in Washington.
As far as Maine is concerned, there is a lot more than Boothbay and Bar Harbor. Check out some of the other areas. There is the LL Bean store (it never closes) in Freeport anlong with tons of factory outlet stores. The Samoset Resort is in Rockport and is a lovely place to stay. The have rooms in the hotel or you can rent a cabin. There are alot of places to stay on Penobscot Bay (sp?).
