Where to Stay in Westchester?
We're headed to a wedding over Memorial Day Weekend. Rehearsal dinner's in NYC, Wedding ceremony is in Stamford and Reception is in New Rochelle, NY. I'm looking for a nice place (kids are coming too) that is somewhat close to the wedding site. We'll have a car so we don't mind driving into NYC. Does anyone have suggestions for nice hotels in the Westchester area?
Thanks!

I would try to stay along the shoreline to be easy to take train {New Haven Line} if needed.
Rye NY has some nice places to stay. A bit further west is Purchase, also nice places there. Greenwich CT is good place. Let me get you some specific places. Be back...

There are a lot of options in Stamford b/c there are so many cos. up there. There's a newish Courtyard in Stamford that gets very good reviews.

The limited options in New Rochelle don't sound so great.

In Rye, the Rye Town Hilton is looking tired according to recent reviews. the Hyatt in Greenwich looks like a good option.

Some follow up...
Got a rate of $189 at the Doral Arrowwood. Told a few people who are also coming to town. They all called within two days. One got a rate of $159, one got a rate of $179 and one got a rate of $109. I called to ask what the deal was in terms of the rate fluctuation in addition to seeing if my rate could be reduced. I was told this was standard and that would not be possible. Is it just me, or is this a little strange?

I find it odd, but then airplanes prices seem to change as they have a limited number of seats at certain prices.
I would call frequently and ask for reservations. Make like it is a new reservation. Get the price, if it is higher or same say "no thinks" or "is that you best price?"
If you didn't get something lower, hang up. If it was significantly lower, book it hang up and call back and cancel higher priced reservation.
I might be tempted, if the price is lower, to just ask for that rate on your existing reservation, but that might cause you to lose the lower rate as it might have conditions on it "for new reservations only" etc.
It's a pain to keep at it, but may just yield you what you want.
Hope this helps...

I have been to Arrowwood many times for both weekend getaways and family reunions weekends. The facilities are fantastic and it's a great place to bring kids. Lots going on all the time. The staff, however, is a disaster. We have had many issues with them re. incorrect bills, lost car keys with valet, double charges, etc. etc. Sometimes it would take months to straighten out what should have been a simple correction. So I am not surprised that people are getting different rates. I would not accept that. You may have to wait till you get there but I would demand an adjustment and my bet is you'll get it. I've had similar issues with them and persistance has paid off. Good luck.
