cactushugger,
I recently posted a trip report, cleverly entitled *Sedona Trip Report,* you may want to search for that and the two or three other trip reports posted about the same time I posted mine.
I think you'll be fine at creek level, the views of red rocks are everywhere when you're driving or walking through town.
For us, I think the highlights were: (1) Heartline Cafe (West Sedona); (2) Casa Rincon (another restaurant in West Sedona); (3) day trip to Jerome; (4) the views from 179 heading into Sedona; (5) the views from Dry Creek Rd (the road that takes you to Boynton Canyon); (6) Driving 89A North from Sedona through Oak Creek Canyon; and (7) day trip to the grand canyon with a drive through Wupatki National Monument & Sunset Crater North of Flagstaff on Highway 89.
It's beautiful out there, you'll love it. Have a great trip!

Hi Jenny
We stayed at the Sedona Hilton Resort and Spa and were delighted with it. We had what they call a "deluxe guest room", which is basically the cheapest room they offer and not a suite. It was 119.00 per night (this was in early Aug) and we had 2Q, fireplace, fridge, coffee, lovely bathroom and a balcony with the most gorgeous view of bell rock. This place was truly wonderful. The pool was lovely with a waterfall feature and also a seperate hot tub. Had a neat firepit area with a fire each night. POolside bar with drinks too. We didn't use the spa, but on the website it looks great. Also we didn't eat at the restaurant, but the menu looked intriguing. We LOVED the fact that it was a few miles outside of the busy part of Sedona. Not inconvenient at all and a lovely drive down there.

You'll love Sedona no matter where you end up staying, but let us know!

Ok, the Hilton and Hyatt sound great, but are bothed booked for when we'll be out there??? We're going from Oct. 20-22. Any suggestions on a nice motel with easy walking distance to downtown, w/ a nice view. We are looking to spend b/t $100-$130/night. How's the Best Western or the Orchards Inn. They are walking distance to the creek??? Nice views???

Hi,
I came across a brand new B&B that is located right door to Tlaqepaque shops. It is ~El Portal.~ It is very pricey, but for the month of Sept. they are offering lower rates.
On next trip, we plan on staying here.
Has anyone stayed here before that can make favorable comments?
Francie

if you're looking for privacy, small number of rooms, and romance - try the wishing well B+B. we were married in sedona, and we stayed at the wishing well bed and breakfast on our wedding night. NO TELEVISION, and private spa on a private balcony with view of red rocks. plus gormet breakfast delivered to your room - no dining with other guests if you don't want to. it's spendy, and two night min. on weekends, but well worth it. need to drive to uptown/downtown to get to restaurants etc. also, heartline catered our wedding, and they continue to have great food.
