where to stay in Montana?

My family will be driving the Alaska Highway the end of August. Once we leave Edmonton, we plan on staying somewhere in Montana for the night and then to Yellowstone. Can someone tell me a nice area to stay in Montana? Anywhere from the border to Great Falls. Thanks!!!!

Hello from Northwest Montana.
Where will you be crossing the border?

Assuming you are crossing at Coutts - Sweet Grass, there are a few motels in Shelby, and a Super 8 in Conrad. Other than that, there is not much of anything until you reach Great Falls.

Okay, looks like Sweetgrass is the route coming in to Montana we are taking. Do you know how long it takes to get to Great Falls from Calgary? Also where is a good place to stay in Great Falls with 2 small kids? Thanks!

I believe a brand new Hampton Inn just opened recently in Great Falls. You may want to try there.
