Where to stay in Door County, Wisconsin?

Am considering a trip to Door COunty in July. WOuld like to stay in a B & B, preferrably on the water, good location, and close to restaurants, etc.. Anyone have any ideas?

The Chicago Tribune did an article on Door County in the Winter last Sunday that listed places to stay and eat, you may want to check it out on their website-chicagotribune.com

The Chamber of Commerce for Door County has a great website. Just ask for a brochure and you will get tons of info from all the resorts, B&B's, etc. We have stayed at the Country House in Sister Bay and the Edgewater in Ephraim. Both were very nice. The Ephraim Inn also looked like a nice place. Do a Door County search on this site and you will get lots of advice from the locals. It's a wonderful spot!

The Thorp House in Fish Creek is very nice. Decorated with lots of antiques - very quaint. Not right on the water but across from the beach. It is also a short walk to Pennisula State Park. You can check out all the lodging at www.doorcountyvacations.com. Weekends in the summer book up fast so you should try to reserve a room early. Have fun.

Try Blacksmith Inn in Bailey's Harbor. Nice place, on the Lake Michigan side, a little quieter, but still a nice town and within an easy drive to the Green Bay side.
