Where to stay after John Mayer in Hershey??

Taking my daughter and a few friends to the concert, and was wondering the following...

As the concert is on a Saturday night, and we're driving from New York, any place to spend Friday night that is cool, and I notice online that the Hershey Lodge has rooms for $279.00 a night, wow, isn't that a lot? Hershey Hotel seems to not have any rooms?

Are there any hotels near the park that are a notch down and not as pricey? If I have to bite the bullet and spend the $279.00 then we'll spend one night, whereas if there is something decent for less we might spend two nights.

thanks for anybody's input.

J

Harrisburg's a short distance away, and Priceline has some great room deals. Check out Riverfront Park and City Island....

Sure there are a few hotels right there - I'm not sure which ones, I think there's a Hampton and maybe a Comfort Inn. Agree that Harrisburg is a good 2nd choice. Only 15 minutes or so. The Hershey Hotel is over priced anyway (although nice it's not exactly the luxury hotel they claim). The Lodge is ok but I'd never pay $279/night for it.

There's a Marriott about a mile from the stadium. It has large, nice rooms tho I do recall it was a little pricey. Not as bad as the Lodge tho, I don't think. I haven't been in about 5 years but I loved staying there.
