where to stay 2 nights mid Sept-couple 50 yrs old-Pacific Grove area

Hi there,

My boyfriend and I will be passing thru this area en route from Napa, Sonoma to Paso Robles on a wine tasting tour

would really like to be able to walk to a nice beach from our accommodations

we don't need luxury...just clean and comfortable out of the busy areas of town

have something booked at the Lighthouse Lodge and cottages, but nervous about some of the bad reviews i am reading

any suggestions??

I stayed at the Sunset Inn last year- very nice, good reviews, you can walk to beach. Parking is included - no amenities such as pool, hot tub or restaurant but we were only in room to sleep so
not needed.

It is in a VERY quiet area

I always recommend Asilomar Lodge/State Park in that area. Simple and very close to great tidepooling beach. http://www.visitasilomar.com/

I also think Asilomar is a good choice. They have a variety of accommodations, there are lovely trails with easy access to the beach, and a full breakfast included.r

Asilomar is great but sometimes it is VERY hard to get into (like impossible) since a lot of groups stay there.

I'd try it first and then Sunset Inn or one of the other nearly B&Bs/motels.

I don't blame you for being concerned. I stayed at the Lighthouse Lodge & was sorely disappointed. Cancelled the remainder of my stay and went home.

Asilomar would also be my recommendation, for a very different and peaceful experience.
