where to snorkel in Hawaii

We will be at Oahu,Maui,Kauai and theBig Island-on each island for 6 days in late Sept-where are the best places to snorkel on each island? Should we take any of the boats? (to Molokini or the NaPali coast) Have done a lot of snorkeling in the Caribbean-don't want to go where it is so crowded everyone is kicking you with their fins>
Thanks

We went to Mile Marker 12, outside of Lahaina. It's a long stretch of beach with a low growing tree along it. The water is shallow and great place for beginners, like we were, to practice before they hit the deep stuff. The coral was beautiful there.

We enjoyed the 1/2 catamarran trips to Molokini a number of times. This is expensive, though. But you don't have to worry about being knocked around in the surf or banged up by coral since this is really a very deep underwater nature reserve. The trip is fun and includes lunch. Fine for beginners or experienced people.

We also liked the beach and snorkeling in front of the Napili Kai Beach Club hotel (not private beach). Also on Maui. No rough surf and lots good snorkeling along the rocky cliffs on both sides of the beach.

Thanks-it looks like there are a lot of companies with trips to Molokini-do you know which one you used?

Kauai, Tunnels Lydgate to start if you are rusty early for a parking space

Oahu Hanama bay but early morning the crowds are terrible

want less crowds get on a snorkle (small) tour I have snorkled throughout the islands, the red sea and the mediteranean this is what has always worked for me.

Black Rock in Kaanapali by the Sheraton is a very good place to snorkel. I've seen a variety of fish there and even saw a turtle. I also enjoyed the Kamole Beach snorkeling (I can't remember if I was at 1, 2, or 3).

On the Big Island, there is very good snorkeling at the beach for the Beach Club condo, which is part of the Mauna Lani complex. You might have to park at the Mauna Lani resort and then walk about 5 minutes to get to it. We were staying at the Mauna Lani (which was fantastic).

On Kauai, I would suggest Ke'ee Beach at the end of the north shore road (trailhead of the Kalalau Trail). We also had fun snorkeling at Salt Pond Beach Park.
