We (family with two teens) are planning to join another family (also with two teens) after x-mas - they have a timeshare at the Marriott resort. We don't think we want to rent two hotel rooms, or cram into one, so where would a convenient villa rental be?

Also, if our friends drop their rental, and we share a 4 bedroom place somewhere, does that change which part of the island we should consider?

We are all active - swim, snorkel, tennis, golf, and a little surfing - plus our teens would appreciate other teens.

Just so you know, there are two Marriott timeshare resorts on Kauai, one in Poipu Beach (the Waiohai) and the other in Lihue . If you want to be near your friends, just be sure you know which area they are in.

It is near the Poipu Beach Mariott share and is a really nice facility with pool, tennis courts, grills.

Lucky my in-laws own a unit there!

We stayed at the Hilton Kauai Beach Club. It's just a few minutes from the Mariott in Lihue. It is a beautiful resort.
