where to have dinner before Jersey Boys in SF?

Any places near the theater so we can park once? Thanks in advance.

I believe Jersey Boys is at the Curran. That's just down the street from The Grand Cafe at the Hotel Monaco http://www.monaco-sf.com/monmon_dining.html. You're very near Union Square and there are many places to dine there. Any preference to cuisine?

No real preference...one person doesn't eat red meat. Would like to keep the entree price below $30/per person

I'm a big fan of Kuleto's in that area, a real bargain for the quality.

www.kuletos.com

for pictures, menus, and even reservations.

A second vote for Kuleto's. E&O Trading Company is a few blocks away also.

Aqua is pretty close and probably has the best seafood in the area.

Last I knew the Aqua dinner menu was a tasting one at over $100 a person or a fixed price at something like $75.

Farallon is much closer to the theatre and easier walking distance and is ala carte, but not inexpensive either. Great seafood, though.

Patrick is right that you absolutely cannot eat at Aqua for $30 a person for a an entree. Look at the Grand Cafe's menu on-line. It has a variety, including fish and shellfish, and the price is in your range, plus its only a block or so from the theatre.

We ate at Ponzu--www.ponzurestaurant.com--401 Taylor at O'Farrell before we went to Jersey Boys. Good food, great service, not too expensive. Lots of good small plates/appetizers.

The Monaco Hotel is so close. We have season theatre tickets for ACT, which is at the Curran, right next door to the Geary, where Jersey Boys is playing.

The Grand Cafe is fine, but a little formal and you will be on a time constraint. We often eat in the bar area, called the Petit Cafe. Our favorite, however, is just a block or so away in the Adagio Hotel. Cortez is a classy restaurant which does small plates, so that you can order a variety and share. Hip atomosphere, great young servers.

I LOVE Cortez, but it's not seafood.

We ate at Annabelle's Bar & Bistro before we saw the show last Dec. It was near the BART station, and a short walk to the theatre.
