S.F. restaurants near Union Square

We will be in San Francisco for two nights the beginning of June(staying near Union Square). I was thinking about trying Jeanne d'arc (recommended by a poster)
We are trying to find a restaurant for the first night we are there, which is a Monday. (We arrive around 5:30PM). I was wondering if there is some creative, upscalish seafood place around there? Or any other recommendations for creative cuisine. A number of years ago, we were in S.F. and had the best tuna around the Union square area( I think) Could it be the Pacific?

Probably our favorite from from a recent trip:

Creative, upscale, vegan. We're aren't vegetarian, let alone vegan, but this place was great. A few blocks west of Union Sq.

Upscale, creative, and primarily seafood near Union Square? You just perfectly described Farallon.

Farallon is the answer. Eat in the whimsical "pool room".
