Thanks for all of the advice. We are sticking with Wildwood Crest for a variety of reasons and have booked ourselves at the Olympic Beach Resort. A friend who goes to the Crest every year recommended several hotels, and this was one which was avialable. I'll report back. I did check some other sites and no one had an opinion either way about it. The Grand was covered everywhere as being awful, so I'm hoping our choice will be okay-people generally rant, but keep quite when things are ok. We will end our trip farther north in Jersy and take day trips into NYC and Philly. I cant wait to get out of my office and out of town!

My family and I stayed in Wildwood Crest a couple of years ago and had a wonderful time, including on the boardwalk - just had to keep your eye and hand on your money at all times! I wouldn't recommend the place we stayed, but I would urge you to look into a place I read about and then fell in love with when I saw it. It's at the southern end of Wildwood Crest, on the water (about a half mile south of the boardwalk's end), and is also large condos. I don't know the name but it should be easy to find as it was certainly the nicest place around.

Someone in this thread mentioned that they think Ocean City is "dry". Does anyone know for sure. Is Rehoboth "dry"?

This message is for Jackie, if you type in capemaycountyheald you should find the article about the Grand it was in last week paper and this week it comes out every Wednesday and it is free and available on the wed to read. Previous customers and the township which it is actual located in Lower Township are taking them to court and they are being fined for numerous problems. So if you did stayed please read these articles.

The place at the end of Wildwood Crest is called Seapointe Village. By far the nicest place on the Jersey Shore. It feels like you are at resort on some island. There is 24 hour security and you cannot get in unless you are a resident. Check out there website. Seapointe Village.com
