Where to go in Arizona?
We have 4 or 5 days to spend in Arizona in March. We are looking for a relaxing place to visit with a very nice place to stay. We will be renting a car and can drive 2 hours or so to see "the sights", whatever they may be(suggestions welcome). Great local dining is a must. Just my wife and I, 30's, no real budget constraints, not big into golf, but a nice pool would be a benefit.

Sedona's a great suggestion. I personally think Tucson is great, too. Much more relaxing (and beautiful IMHO) than Phoenix. There are wonderful foothills resorts - my own favorites are Loew's Ventana and The Westward Look. Both have great pools and beautiful surroundings. There are some really great places to hike in Tucson area and March would be a good time to do it. Wonderful restaurants including Janos, North, Cafe Poca Cosa, to name a few.

If you fly into Phoenix, things to see:
Heard Museum, Scottsdale Art Galleries,
Sedona red clay. For BBQ, head over to El Paso BBQ in Scottsdale.
If you fly into Tucson, things to see:
Kartchner Caverns (call in advance to order tickets for the tour), Biosphere, sidetrip to Bisbee. For food, check out the Flying V and Terra Cota.

If you go to Phoneix and want to spend a night there before heading to Sedona, I recently flew into Phoneix and stayed at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass and Resort in southern {Phoneix for a few days before heading to Sedona. The Wild Horse pass resort was wonderful. It is just a few years old, set on Indian Reservation land, a southwest/Native American decor. It is stunning simple architecture, just a few years old, and the room I was in looked onto the golf course w/mountains and sunsets beyond and a private balcony. They have a wonderful spa, Aji. And a full equestrain center w/guided rides. The place sort of grew on me the couple of days I was there. The restaurant Koi was fabulous, they use alot of ingredients grown on the reservation. And service was very good and everyone friendly. I hardly left the resort, only to do the business I had come to do, and then I wanted to go right back. I liked it more than Sctossdale resorts I've stayed in (including the Phonecian).
If you go to Sedona you will find all the info you need on this board, just search and read- everything there is to do is covered here, including short drive trips from Sedona, hikes in Sedona, etc.

Beware that it can be pretty cold in Sedona in March. We were there in early May one year and were camping and it snowed on us. Perhaps, we were unlucky, and that was highly unusual. I don't know because it was my one and only trip to Sedona, but I remember it as very chilly. You might want to check the weather history. In spite of the weather we had, I remember it as an incredibly beautiful place. I would also, put in a vote for the Grand Canyon.
