Where to go for Christmas ski trip?

We would like to go skiing over the December holidays through New Year's but are unsure of the destination. We considered VT because we could drive along the East Coast with our dogs but the snow sounds very unpredictable.

Any recommendations for a more reliable ski experience? We're pretty much willing to consider any country/city though we'd love to be able to take our dogs...

Thank you and happy travels!

If you're interested in a little research, the posters over at www.epicski.com are the most knowledgable I've ever found on the net as it relates to ski resorts...
