Where to establish 'home base' when touring Florida Keys
Flying into Miami and renting a car. Can we tour all the keys but stay in the same place each night? First time there, so don't know if we can plan to tour a key a day and then travel back to a home base at night. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!!

I wouldn't recommend doing that. It would involve a lot of driving over the same road which is not only repetitive but, with traffic, can be slow going.
I'm not sure what you want to see or how long you will be there, but for our 5 day/4 night stay, we spent 2 nights in Key West and 2 nights in Key Largo.

Agree, split your time. We did 3 nights in Key West and one on Key Largo based on the fact that most of what we wanted to do was in Key West. Splurge on the sea plane to Dry Tortugas NP, it was the highlight of our trip. We visited the Keys last June as it was a place we had never been and we needed to stay in the southeast the week between two weddings. We ended up having a great time.

I would do Key Largo for John Pennencamp State Park, Islamarado for Middle Keys and of course, Key West. Highly recommend a visit to the Dry Tortugas. We did the ferry and enjoyed the ride both ways. Much cheaper than the sea plane.
