Where to eat Christmas Day evening meal in Minneapolis
Hi, My family of 10 (11-65) will be in Minneapolis on Christmas Day in order to catch an early flight to Jamaica on the 26th. We will be staying overnight near the airport. I'm hoping someone can give us suggestions for an evening meal. We are all driving to Minneapolis so transportation is not a problem. I appreciate and thank you for your help. Owa

I don't know what their schedule is but we always enjoy the retaurants at Hotel Sofitel in Bloomington. They are very good for a hotel restaurant. I know of others who have eaten there on Holidays and have been very pleased.

Nicollet Island Inn has availability for 10 at 7:00 p.m. on Christmas Day, but it might be more $ than you want to spend.
Found the reservation by going to www.opentable.com.

Hi Owa,
I called a few of our favorites for you, and they are all closed. So then, I was thinking that perhaps the St. Paul Grill would be open as it is in the St. Paul Hotel, they are open on Christmas Day, however when I just called, they are all booked.
I'm sorry I wish I would have seen your post earlier. I wish you a pleasant trip to Jamaica and I hope that you have a highway free of snow on your way to the cities.
Best wishes, let us know how things went, Tiff

Again, I am always amazed at the time posters take to be so helpful.
beanweb24, I didn't know the site you looked at existed! I'll look at a menu.
Tiff, thanks for calling. I know you post on the Caribbean forum. I will give a trip report when we get back. I picked CocoLa Palm because of all the good reviews on the board. Thanks again, Owa

Hey Owa...are you from a town south of Minneapolis that starts with Owa?? I am!!
We like Santorini's greek restaurant on the frontage rd. where Hwy.169 and I-394 intersect. We have had both Thanksgiving and Easter meals there...am not sure if they do Xmas. The food is always excellent. They offer traditional food as well as greek food.

AuntAnnie, No, we are from Sioux Falls, SD. Six of us will drive together from here, and the other family comes from Bemidj. Looks like we will have good weather for driving.
Actually my son-in-law mentioned Santorini's. I'll check that one.
Thanks, Owa

Hi Owa,
Have a lovely time, and yes, please post upon your return! We went to Jamaica four years ago for New Year's and loved it. The people were unbelievably friendly, the weather perfect.
Soak up those rays for us !
