We've had a couple of good, casual lunches in Charleston at Cru Cafe (not open Sundays and Mondays) in addition to the suggestions above. I've never been but tons of people rave about Gaulart et Maliclet Cafe: Fast and French on Broad for lunch.

Ate at Olde Pink House in Savannah last month. Lovely place and fine meal overall. Signature dish whole scored flounder was wonderful. Not so with fried green tomatoes appetizer. Very thin and greasy with excess batter. Excellent service. I'd give it a B grade, because at those prices everything should be superb.

I love Olde Pink House. I ate there several times when I worked in Savannah. Sit at the bar and eat a bunch of those cheese straws.
Fast and French is wonderful, but it can get crowded at lunch with locals. You get a glass of wine with your meal. Yay.
starrs, if you come in spring, I can get us on a shrimp boat for the Blessing of the Fleet.

I just got back. I was pleased with my restaurant choices overall. Savannah we ate at the Pink House and Elizabeth on 37th. The flounder @ Pink House was excellent. We also were disappointed with our appetizers (calamari and fried artichoke hearts). My issue with both of these places is that I'd expect something really fabulous at that price point (entrees in mid $30s and up). I live in NYC and eat out once or twice a week but rarely venture into places with entrees over $25. I've had some amazing meals at that price, so for a good $10 more per entree I'd expect something extra-ordinary in both quality and service.
In Charleston we ate at FIG and SNOB, both very good, food very fresh and light. Although, FIG had some service hiccups. Everything was slow (getting menus, getting bread, waiting for courses). In fact, it took almost an hour from the time we finished our appetizers to get our main courses. They offered us dessert which we accepted (although otherwise would have skipped). The dessert portions are enormous, so 2 desserts was way too much for 2 people. SNOB was the overall favorite (and cheapest as well, although it would have been the favorite at any price).
All things considered, we enjoyed both cities very much, meals and all. We loved our accommodations as well (Green Palm Inn in Savannah and French Quarter Inn in Charleston).

I also vote for Husk and I would also like to suggest Poogan's Porch. They have really great southern food and it's also one of the most haunted places in Charleston.
