Where is it Hot in Feb March?

My husband and I and 1 year old son would like to go to Florida between now and April 6th. (No later b/c my son will turn 2 in April and we don't want to pay for the ticket)
We must go to Melbourne for a few days to see my Mom and also north or Orlando to see a Great Aunt for a day. After that we are free to do what we want...
We want to be able to swim in the Ocean and a kiddie pool or no wave area for my son. How
far South do I have to drive for it to be hot enough to go in the Ocean?
Where can my husband see gators, swamps etc?
We've done Gatorland. We're up for adventure any ideas? How far would it be to drive from Melbourne/Orlando to the keys? Are there any airlines that make it cost effective to fly in to Floriday up north and Fly out down south to cut out some driving?

I believe you need to go as far south as West Palm, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami for warm enough weather and water in Feb. We go to Miami every Feb for 2 weeks. The temperature is normally in the mid 70s to 80s during the days, @ 65-70 at night. The water is warm, don't know the temperature. The drive from Miami to Key West is @ 4 hours. Not sure how far down you would want to go in the keys...We took a wonderful airboat ride last year in the Everglades. The company was Airboat USA. They have a website, and do custom type rides. We enjoyed it becaus we saw more of the alligators, etc. in the wild. Most of the other companies take you to the gator farms, but this one didn't.

Thank you both. I like the weather site tool, it really helps in picking a destination.
How far is the drive from Melbourne to Miami? I found a site that said 2.75 hrs - Is that correct? I thought it was much longer drive. Thanks for the Airboat place that sounds right up my husbands alley!
Maybe we will fulfill our family obligations up in Northern Florida and do the drive down and spend about 4 days somewhere between West Palm and Miami. I'll start viewing the posts about those areas.

For driving time I like www.maps.yahoo.com which puts Melbourne 189 miles from Miami and give a 2-hour 49-minute drive time.
