Where in Paris?

About to spend 11 days in Paris. First 6 with teenagers. What arrondissement should I rent an apartment in? There will be 3 first time visitors. Thanks for any help.

You've posted in the US/Texas forum. I realize there's a Paris in Texas (loved the movie) but have a feeling it isn't the one to which you refer. You might want to re-post in Europe/France.

Yes, repost on the Europe Forum.

Really, which arrondissement doesn't matter as much as being close to a Metro station.

Are you aware that most apartment rentals in Paris are illegal?

Kathie - I decided to not mention the last part and enjoy it from the sidelines.

Good question and the one that occurred to me when concluding it may not be your destination. But maybe we should delve further. Do you know?

I find it semi-weird that you responded to this semi-silly thread . . . And haven't yet responded to your thread on the Europe forum where people are actually trying to give you info/pointers.

Just got back from a first time trip. I would suggest staying in a hotel that is within a few blocks of the seine, somewhere between the eiffel tower and notre dame. Easy metro access and you can get anywhere. There's a huge carnival during the summer in the Tuileries Garden. So that spans several arrondisements, 1, 2, 6, 7, 8. Metro access is most important. You can stay in literally any neighborhood and be wherever you want to be very quickly.
