When is it too late to do a trip report?

We went to Hawaii (2 isl) in May and San Francisco in Aug. Had rec'd so many good suggestions from fellow fodorites and had intended to do a trip rept when we returned, but didn't get it done. Now I have some time and wondering when is it "too late" to do a trip report? Don't want to do it if all think the info would be outdated.

Go for it Grandma! If for no other reason, for yourself! It will take you back to May and August with I'm sure some wonderful times to tell about.

Yes, please do. All reports contain insights which are helpful to some people, no matter how old (insights or people) they are. Some things never change.

The answer in NEVER!! I love reading trip reports.
I also look up specific reports in order to plan a trip.
Write on.

It't not too late. The later a report is, the less relevant such details as opening and closing times and even, perhaps, restaurant reviews become. However, I assume the scenery hasn't changed. Tell us what you enjoyed!

Never too late (well maybe unless we're talking 10+ years!)

Another way to "give back" besides trip reports is to answer specific questions you see asked about San Francisco or the two islands in Hawaii you know about.

It's never too late, as long as you're specific about the time frame. Some things can change rapidly, such as the quality of service in a restaurant or hotel, whereas some thing never change!

Its NEVER too late!

And May and Aug are not late at all!. Main thing is to let us know at the start when the trip occurred. Otherwise, it could create confusion if you start talking about snorkeling at the calm beaches on the North Shore when you post your report in December, they may not realize that December has BIG waves, and in May they are more calm.

...but everyone loves a new trip report, so start writing!!

I just printed a report of a 1957 Navy cruise on a Destroyer from CA to the Western Pacific in a ship's newsletter known as a WESTPAC cruise. It was sent to me by a crew member who was on board at the time and made notes of dates and happenings. The response from those who were also on board then was unbelievable because of the refreshed memories. More surprising were those who made later WESTPAC cruises

If it of interest to you, chances are it will be of interest to others, so do it. But would you really want to hear about an around the world cruise that took place in 1953 on the same ship?

When is it too late to do a trip report?
When your fingers can no longer work the keys on the key board. Then you get someone to write it for you.

It's too late when I can't even remember details of the trip myself.

You realize that you'll lose a grade for any late work! (Can you tell I have a high schooler)
