What's your "Red Couch"?
The "what's your favorite double duty item?" thread got me thinking.
Do you have a "thing" which you take with you to a whole bunch of places. Kind of like the red couch project (http://www.kevinclarke.com/red_couch1.html) from a few years back.
For example I have an Australian hat made out of rabbit's fur which I bought in Flemington NJ.
I have had this hat since 1987 and have pictures all over the world wearing it.
The only thing I'm sorry about is that I don't have a series of pictures with all the strange, exotic beers I've drank all over the world.

I finally gave up my Merrell Shoes. These were hiking shoes that I was convinced should see every national park that I visited. They had been on a Glacier in Alaska, in the bottom of the Grand Canyon Rafting, many hikes, etc. They finally wore out and I bought me another pair.

We have a stuffed hedgehog named Sir Wedgeworth that started traveling with me in 1987 and has been all over the world with us, even to Paris and Sydney and Mexico.

I had a pair of shoes I bought about 15 years ago that had faithfully walked my tired old body all over New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Milwaukee, London, Paris, and Rome.
Sadly, my old faithfuls finally gave out after a two-week trip to Paris and Rome this past spring. They worked their little shoe-strings off on 12 days of 12-hour walking, but I had to throw them directly into the garbage the minute I arrived home from the airport.
Even more sadly, I cannot find a proper pair to replace them.
PS: I bought these wonderful shoes at Target for $20 in 1993. Best investment I ever made!
