# 1 Overrated would be TAOS and SANTA FE, NM. What people see in NM escapes me completely.
# 2 Overrated would be the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. The way people talk about it you would think it was a palace. What an ordinary, crowded presumptious hotel.
#3 Overrated would be ... fill in the blank!

oh and i just finished reading all the posts, here. todd, what you and i share is the ability to look at something and decide for yourself that you do or don't like it. most people like things because they THINK they're SUPPOSED TO. Most places i go, i'm underwhelmed. Sedona is just okay, Nina. Todd's point is that it's overrated. I agree wholeheartedly.

Changing the subject! The most over rated place that I have been to without a 9 hr car drive or red rocks was TORTOLA, British Virgin Islands. All the great things I read about it must have been from OFF the shore!! Loved the other islands and sailing BY this one!

To answer the question, most over rated = Scottsdale, the shopping & golf mecca of the southwest. To each his own. If you aren't the outdoor type why go to Sedona to begin with ? What were you expecting ? I'd also be interested to know what you did in Scottsdale besides go to a ballgame (which I think you can do in most major cities in the US).

Sorry flop, but YOU think Sedona was just OK, I obviously thought a bit more of it. I'm well aware that people have different tastes, but don't even try to tell me that I only liked it because I was supposed to. I'm not that pliable.
Now to answer Tod's question. Some places I consider to be overrated are Cozumel, Nassau, Antigua, St. Martin, Honolulu (not the rest of the islands though!), San Diego and Hilton Head. I've been pretty satisfied with most of the other places I've visited.

I do not understand why people have to be so mean to people who have different opinions. What I think is great someone else may think is overrated...and vice versa. Please, lets be civil and stop the badmouthing.

I was kidding about the whole hawaii thing. Never been there. Just using sarcasm like some other people are. See someone on here says COZUMEL is overrated. To me personally I love COZUMEL. See everyone has their own opinions. I hate this whole "TROLL" thing. I don't even get that.

Absolutely, without hesistation I have to answer the Florida Keys. Oh how I looked forward to my trip! But then oh how I was happy to leave all those strip mall, dolphin mailboxes, and early bird specials behind me!
I also feel that Honolulu is over rated.
Here's a twist- I just got back from Cleveland and feel now that it is UNDERRATED! ha!
