Whats the best hotel you've stayed in?

Since we've had the worst, what is the absolute best hotel you have ever stayed in and where?

Loews Ventana Canyon in Tucson. Since people can be mean here, remember this is the best place I have stayed. Not best hotel in general.

I always thought that A Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons couldn't be beat until I stayed at the Regent Chiang Mai in Thailand. Absolutely amazing architecture, enormous rooms, large bathrooms which were half inside and half open air with their own private gardens and the service? Impeccable. It's almost like they read your mind and anticipate your every desire. This place was not to be believed. Also relatively speaking, I don't think it was that expensive ( I think it was less than $300), considering it was such a phenomenol hotel.

Is it? The Four Seasons name wasn't on anything when I was there in '98. Maybe it's just the Asian culture that adds the elevated service.

The Warwick, Houston, 1983
Le Meridien, New Orleans, 1988
The Broadmoor, Colorado Springs, 2000

My husband and I tend to economize on lodging, when possible, in order to travel to more places.
