What's in Teton Village?

I have another post out on this forum re: suggestions for staying in town (Jackson) vs. outside of town. We're finding lots of available condos in Teton Village, so I'm going to start inquiring with them.

My question is, besides condos and skiing-oriented stuff, what else is in Teton Village? Any groceries, gas stations, etc? I can't seem to find anything that'd indicate whether it's an actual town with other services or just an area with lots of places for skiers to stay.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'll let you know in a week - we are staying there for a few nights starting Tuesday.

A friend tells me her sister comes into town to grocery shop. That's probably why the only large chain grocery store is at the intersection where Teton Village drivers come into Jackson.

We stayed there one night a few years ago. All I remember is a gas station and restaurant and Best Western motel. (along with the condos, ski lift, etc.) Definitely not a town. It isn't a long drive to Jackson -- as I remember about 10 minutes or so. We have always stayed in Jackson since -- more convenient for us, but don't know of any condos there.

Hello dgkp - Teton Village is basically a bedroom community. There is a gas station with a mini-mart, and there is also a very small grocery store in the village as well as a couple restaurants.

We enjoy the Village because of just that reason. The peace and solitude is what we're looking for when visiting the Tetons.

Everything you need is in the town of Jackson, about 15 minutes away: a very large grocery store as well as dozens of restaurants, hotels, souvenir shops and of course the tourists to go with them.

There is a large parking lot in Teton Village for daytrippers. But at night it's all quiet, great for sitting on the balcony watching the sunsets (or beautiful sunrises in the mornings) or the horses grazing in the meadows. Very peaceful.

Hope this helps.

It is absolutely just a resort on the side of a mountain-not a town. Beautiful and with great access to Jackson Hole, GTNP and even Yellowstone.
