What to wear?

We are traveling to Orlando, then to Fort Lauderdale for a Bahama cruise, then to Daytona Beach for New Years. Please help us in telling us what to take to wear?

Thank you.

You will get more response if you
post your query on the Fodors
cruise site indicating what ship
you are sailling on as some lines
are more formal than others.

In Florida weather has been cold last few days. We have had in the past freezing weather around New Year time, some other times had been warm like summer.
Bahamas sure is warmer and is all about casual wear during day, smart casual during the night. Not sure if your cruise has formal nights, if so is the case, you will see from tuxs and long gowns to more casual , no shorts, no jeans , no ugly t shirts. Dress like if you are going to a nice restaurant in your home town...
For New Year in Daytone, it all depends where you are going...

Here are my recommendations:

Orlando/Ft Lauderdale - dress in layers since the weather is unpredictable this time of year. (Just got back from Key West this week - was 84 when we arrived, 54 when we left.)
I wear almost all natural fabrics. I took camisoles, blouses, lightweight sweaters, and one linen jacket.
Linen capris in neutral and dark colors, flats, sandals and heels.

Little black dresses are ALWAYS correct for cruises and for New Year's.

This time of the year, it can be warmer in the Bahamas, or it can be cool there also. I would add a sundress or two in case of warmer weather, but again, layering works well.

Have fun!

Cotton and linen dresses, shorts, take a good pair of sweats in case it gets cold at night, dressy jeans, open toed shoes. Take a jean jacket.

I was in the Bahamas January 2, and it was COLD ! I had on long pants, t-sirt, and ended up wrapped up in a beach towel. The kicker to was that there was not a cloud in the sky. Prepare for the unexpected, and hope for the very best. Enjoy.
