What to pack for Vegas in June?
What to pack for Vegas in the first half of June for three women of 58, 35 and 14 that would be staying on the Strip but w/t a car? It's our first trip there before we head to LA so we do not quite know what to expect. We have never been in the dessert. Please share your expertise!

It will be hot and very dry. Cool clothing, a sweater for AC restaurants, a hat for walking, sunscreen and lots of moisturizer.
As far as styles, anything goes in Vegas. Wear exactly what you would wear at home.

I think they mean that you will be sticky because you will be sweating so much.
Your days will be spent outside walking from casino to casino. There is so much to see in each one. Therefore comfy shoes are a MUST. And you will be very hot walking outside. A refillable water bottle is a good idea and sunglasses. You'll think, "hey, let's walk down to that casino, it is only three casinos down." But in actuality, it is more like three miles down. Distances are tricky to gauge because of the enormity of the buildings.
But bring a light sweater for air conditioned hotels.

Sunglasses. Sunblock. Swimsuit. Sunhat. Chapstick. Water bottle. A light sweater for indoors - I am serious, the air conditioning is brutal.
Unless you have a special occasion dinner, don't bring formal clothes.
And a pair of old, dependable, well broken in shoes is a blessing on every trip!

Comfortable shoes and a sweater for chilly AC in the casinos is what I recommend.
Pretty much anything goes in Vegas. However, if you are thinking of going to a club, you'll need to dress up a bit.
Outside it will be hot -- so hat and sunglasses are key.
If you plan on spending any time at the pool, do it in the morning when the sun isn't so hot.

I agree you pack for the heat. But I do remember us going there about third week in June a few years ago and they had an exception to the weather pattern. It was somewhat overcast and temperature range we had was 77-82 during the day. Also, when you say the first half of June, be ready for wind though most likely not. I recall going up in mid-May one year and the winds really kicked up.

My home base for the last seven years is Alaska.Before it was Siberia.I still cannot convert Farenheit to Celcius well, but what I know is -40 C = -40 F
So do not know if Vegas in June is a good idea, but we are determined to give it a try!

Ya know, the desert gets a bad rap imo. If you really 'needsun', as in the OP's screen name, they will love vegas in june.
I've gone at various times for conferences and many times in the july with the family. Yes, it is hot. But for those of us needing sun - and that is me me ME - it's great! You go from each a/c casino to casino then to the pool then to the a/c casino. No big deal.
Last time there in july i did an early am run and it was much easier than around here when there's 1000% humidity. Yes, i meant a thousand percent because thats exactly how it feels.
Sounds like a girls getaway for you needsun - have a blast!
