What to do in or near Phoenix

I am heading to Phoenix in October. I have been to the Heard Museum, walked around Scottsdale and Sedona.

Any suggestions of other museums or interesting sites?

I've only been to Phoenix once myself, but Taliesin West is nice if you're at all interested in Frank Lloyd Wright or architecture in general. I've heard the Desert Botanical Garden is also nice.

The Desert Botanical Garden is nice and worth a visit. I also enjoyed Taliesin West. If you're into hiking, Camelback Mountain is always a popular choice. There are also Indian ruins outside of the city that you might enjoy exploring. The old mining town of Jerome is also a fun place to visit for the day.

You might want to check all the other Phoenix postings for information.

A day trip to Tucson might be fun. Also have you been up to the Grand Canyon.

Papago Park
South Montain Park, particularly at dusk
Hiway 89 up to Roosevelt Lake, but ONLY if (1) you can handle mountain driving on a dirt road and (2) there is NO chance for rain.
