What to do in Oakland for 7 hours?

We're traveling to BI in August. Flying into Oakland late on Friday evening. Flying out on Saturday afternoon around 430 p.m. Planning to be at Oakland Airport around 230 or 3 p.m. Any suggestions on what to do for morning and lunch in Oakland?

I assume you're staying at a hotel near the airport? You could take shuttle/taxi to BART station to go to the Embarcadero in SF and walk around the Ferry bldg (Farmer's market day). Or, taxi to Jack London Square which is closer--shops, restos, watch the boats.

Jack London Square would be a good spot for lunch. I don't think it would fill up all your time though. Are you renting a car for that time or using taxi's/ public transportation? And are you staying in a hotel by the airport?

We're staying at the Fairfield Inn near the Airport.

will you have a car? if so http://www.skatesonthebay.com/ at the Berkeley Marina. They do weekend brunch starting at 11:30 and the views are some of the best in the whole Bay area, including three bridges, all of SF including the ferry bldg, transamerica bldg and coit tower, and hundreds of sail boats.
