What Specific Days in March Will March Madness Happen In Las Vegas?

I'm planning a memorial for my recently deceased father in Las Vegas. I was considering March (possibly Easter Sunday through the following Tuesday). Relatives and friends are coming from all over the US. After reading some threads about how crazy LV is during March Madness, I tried to find exact dates of this event to no avail. Can you help?

If you mean the NCAA basketball tournament -

Next year it runs from March 18 - April 7 -- but the games aren't played in in LV. Lots of people go to LV to place bets on the tourney.

Thank you. That's exactly what I was looking for. I think I'll continue to plan around my original dates.

The Mountain West Conference basketball championship games will be held in Las Vegas March 13 to March 15. I have heard it is kinda crazy and hotel rooms are hard to get. Once, we were in Las Vegas during spring break (around Easter) when there was a track meet at UNLV. The hotel was full of teams from all over and our neighbors ended up getting kicked out in the middle of the night. The whole town was full of people on spring break.

I think it's a good idea to plan around the March Madness. My dad was visiting with a new acquaintance and we went down to the strip on a weekend last year and there were many s^%tfaced 21 year olds at noon both days. It was really gross. No seating in the sports books and more drunk rowdy young adults. We made a concious decision not to go down to the strip again during March Madness. It doesn't matter which casino either as the alcohol is free.

The NCAA tournamnet is only played on Thursday-Sunday during the days janisj cites with Thursday-Saturday nights as the "packed times". If you're going to be there Sunday through Tuesday the tournmanet will have no impact on you.
