What should I do on a Wednesday in Richmond, VA?

Hi,

I will be going to Richmond, Virginia on Wednesday to meet a friend for the day. We are in our mid-20s. Would you have any suggestions please about activities to do and restaurants to go to?

Thanks!

Richmond is pretty big. What area will you be in? What type of things do you like to do?

Parks? Afternoon tea? Shopping?

I would spend a least part of the day wandering Cary St and looking in the cute little shops. Another part of the day I would spend either in the VA Museum of Fine Arts or the Civil War Museum in the iron works. If you click on Virginia in the pull down menu you will find a recent thread on Richmond activities and restaurants. Have fun!

If you enjoy historical sights, try to tour the Virginia Capitol.

Usually on Wednesday's there are concerts at an office park in the west end of town called Innsbrook. It's called Innsbrook After Hours. I think there's a website and your friend has probably heard of it. I'd check out the website to see if there is a concert and if it is of any interest to you. You might also have your friend check to see if the Richmond Braves minor league baseball team is playing in town, that's always fun. There also might be concerts taking place downtown Wednesday evening. For the day, you might want to tour the capital, head to Lewis Ginter Botantical Gardens for a look at their Million Blooms, go the Virginia Museum of Art (near Carytown). If you like BBQ, go to Buzz and Neds near the baseball field and Carytown. If you have a car, Williamsburg is only 1 hour away and a nice day trip. Have fun.
