OMG, Kal... I say the same thing every time I order it. I wonder if they hear that EVERY time someone orders it? Geez

Pam ~ I just gave blood Wednesday and have been comtemplating getting 'typed' for marrow. I think I will just do it.

Ellen ~ They make Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper in DIET??? I wonder why we don't see it here in Dallas???? waaaaaah

Karaoke rocks if you can sing good. I am an excellent singer, usually the best in the club. Gives me an ego boost... (sad, huh?)

See! Once you crack open the goldschlager it all goes down the toilet.

Yes, even I'm groaning as I type this...

Not sad at all TxTravelPro. Good for you!

Could you come to some of the karaoke places I've been to in Indiana? Please? It would really help.

TX Pro, we got it just after the holidays and it really is amazing. Truly doesn't taste like diet (especially with the shot of ice cream tonight lol) and it IS addicting!

And btw, i love karake too. It seems to satisfy my life long dream of singing back up with bon jovi....

Please clue me in.. what does Goldshlager taste like? sounds like.. rhymes with... would it be good before watching an African dance troup and band(Katz's Peace Train).. is it too strong to have before seeing The Aviator, or would Kal's wine be better?

Speaking of African dance troup - did anyone hear the Africans from Soweto sing on NPR this evening? I heard them on my way home from work. A beautiful sound!

Just finished off a bottle of Novelty Hill merlot. Good stuff.

It's OK to deny it jetset1 but have you heard of "Hot Damn?"

It, like goldschlager, has the taste of cinnamon schnapps. Goldschlager is uppity with a proof of 100 and the gold flecks floating in the bottle. But it all tastes like melted red hots candy.

jetset1, Goldschlager is a cinnamon flavored liquor with gold flecks of something (gold leaf?) floating in it. it's like cinnamon Rumplemintz, but worse IMO.

Our bottle was gifted to us. It's like a hangover guarantee.

We were at a child birthday party tonight so all I drank was a crisp refreshing glass of water with lemon. Nohting to write about!!
I start a new job in a month so I am doing some research on the training materials. My terriritry will be New England so I may be calling on some of you Fodorites for assistance as I have no travel experience in that area of the US.

okay, thanks for the clue-in. Think I'll pass. Coping with freezing cold is almost a hangover in itself! I think a couple of hot drinks will do the trick for me tonight.. Cheers!

sundowner~ no, I missed that, but I'm sure it was beautiful. I've heard many moving groups from So. Africa. The meaning and history of the music is incredible.
Having visited relatives there years ago, the group brought back wonderful memories of a beautiful country and enduring spirit of hope. I missed that charming S.A. accent!
It was nice to see young kids and teenagers interacting with the group, dancing and singing, quite a talented bunch of performers. If anyone gets the opportunity to see Sharon Katz and the Peace Train, please don't pass it up. J.

I checked Epinions. For the life of me, why the hell would anyone drink a cinnamon, candy flavored liquor that gives you a headache and a commode hugging hangover? The only reason I see people drinking it is to get drunk? And just what are those flakes? Give me a Crown on the rocks please.

Wow...sorry I missed the party, but I'm glad you all forged on w/o me.

I was in bed quite early due to drinking too much Pinot Grigio and talking to my sister in the US until 2 a.m. on Thursday night. I had to get up at 5:30 a.m. for work, so I was a wee bit on the tired side last night. You would think at my age I would no longer do such "stupidness," as we call it here in the islands. I shudder to think of what my next phone bill will be after a four hour international call.

Goldschlager....my oh my, that stuff has gotten my DH into his share of trouble in the past.

Trish, I bought some Grey Goose Vanilla Vodka in St. Martin a couple weeks ago and tried it with soda. Blech. I guess I will have to try it with ginger ale now. Thanks for the tip.

Not much on my mind except some things I have to do around the house, as well as looking forward to our weekly Jeux de Boule game with our French friends tomorrow, as well as a Superbowl GTG at the local watering hole. I will be having my obligatory Ti Punch (or two) during the Boule game. Don't you just love sports that you can play while drinking?

Have a good weekened everyone and don't indulge in too much poison during the game!

On my Mind: Last night dinner with DH and no kids, no grandkids. We talked about kids and grandkids. Discuss our son in Iraq and what different things he must be seeing and tasting.
Poison: DH Topshelf Margarita OTR, ME frozen coconut margarita, this is one that you must acquire a taste for.

Diet cherry vanilla DP tastes like cough syrup to me. A friend drinks it with a dash of Bailey's.

Sorry, I missed the party last night!

Goldschlager-IMO, made by the devil!

AN-Bailey's and DP! That's a weird combo.

cd-Columbus has 2 Trader Joe's now, one in Dublin and one at Easton. I have a case of their Clark Shaw. One of the crew that works there told me to try their Coastline wines. He said they are very good...
