What's on your Mind & What's Your Poison?
Fun thread for a Friday night! I enjoyed Indytravel's version a couple weeks ago...
On My Mind: Tonight I'm working on gathering details for a couple of Volvo Club events I'm organizing & checking in on Fodors too!
My poison: Skyy Vanilla Vodka & Ginger Ale on the rocks. Trish

My friends won't let me drink Goldschlager anymore...Everytime I would I'd have to say (think James Bond's song from "Goldfinger")
"GOLLLLLLD-schlager!!!
BWAWAAAAAWAAAAAAA"..."
The weather has been so nice in NorCal the past few days has me yearning for my "Ciroc vodka, Cherry Pucker, soda on shaved ice 5:00 somewhere cocktail"!

On my mind~waiting for the tile setter to call back with more details on the new fireplace. We bought a lovely 1912 house(read very good bones) in which someone put marble slabs over absolutely gorgeous 1912 green glazed tile. That 1912 tile is now ruined so we're trying to find a way to take it back as closely as possible. It's more of a tragedy than the textured sponged walls in both the bath and bedroom
On my mind all day~a very small patient of mine who is awaiting news on bone marrow transplant at St Judes. Insurance won't pay for stem cell transplant. It's going to be an even harder journey for him and his family. His parents are such fine and wonderful people.
My poison: right at this moment a glass of Solitude Carneros 2002 Chardonnay. Later on this evening, it will be bbq rib eye steaks and something red.
Good thread tpatricco. We see Budman soon.

Diet cherry - vanilla dr. pepper!
Not too exciting, but yummy especially with a shot of cherry vanilla ice cream. And perfect for a night of paperwork and playing catch up ... and before the next two nights of parties
And may the best team win! (looking forward to Paul and the half time show!)

By the way full credit goes to Statia for the On Your Mind/Poison thread. She's the creative genius behind this. I was just a copycat.
Ok the poison is easy for me a VO Manhattan.
What's on my mind? Well I had a few original ideas until reading this thread!
Karaoke scares me. Like auditions for American Idol.
Goldschlager really, really scares me. All I can do is wonder if the gold flecks would make my poo sparkle. Yeah that was a bit over the edge for tact and good taste but what the heck. I'm drinking a Manhattan.
What's really on my mind is the NYC GTG. My family is gonna perform an intervention on me if I'm not careful with this internet/travel thing.

I know it's a martini not a Manhattan, but what can you do?

Grumbling about all the people here in Naples, Florida now that it is the height of the season. Working on a garage sale for tomorrow, and stopped by my favorite market to pick up a roasted chicken to take home-- ooops -- all sold out at 6 PM? -- rats. Decide to go out casual -- called a couple places, and no go. It's Friday night so booked until 10 or so. Let's just walk across the street to the Lobster House on the water -- easy to get in. So we do. "Sorry, we won't have a table for at least an hour and a half." OK, let's just go to our beloved English Pub, but call and make sure nothing special is going on tonight. Nope. Just plain dinner. Great, but sorry, "no tables till 8:30" (called at 7:30). So in a little while will head out. No such thing as an easy dinner in Naples this time of year.
And I feel a pint of Newcastle Brown Ale from the tap coming on very soon!

Kal, Viognier in February? You are doing this to humble me, right? To make me beg?
I have not had Incognito. How good is it? You know that viognier is the only thing in life I can't walk away from (well, maybe one or two other things, but it is right up there)
and Pam, your bathroom renovation was a pia and it turned out so nicely in the end. It is so nice that you are restoring the fireplace instead of redoing it. As one who has lived in a 50 yr old home, I say there is nothing like character in a house, as long as the character doesn't leak.
Pam, I admire you, I've told you that before. I left nursing, not because I didn't like clinical but I decided to take a different path. Bless you, and most of all bless that child and family.
Now, darn it Kal, pass that Viognier!!!
