I like the Grove Shopping Center. Located right next to Farmer's Market. Fun afternoon.

Be sure to see the struggling "actors" that will be waiting on you in the retail stores and restaurants!

Don't miss the homeless!

Those unemployed will help you feel just ducky in the posh neighborhood.

Have a $45 cafe latte for me while you're there, sweetie!

Spa: Spa Mystique in Century City (adjacent to BH), Aida Thibiant in BH, Elizabeth Arden in BH.
Shopping: Montana Avenue in Santa Monica has more little boutiques than chain stores (at least for now). Avoid the malls where it's the same stuff you have at home. Except for the Beverly Center where I have seen many, many celebs (sometimes others had to id them for me, but I don't watch much MTV anymore). Starspotting is a tough sport, keep your eyes open and just have fun. Other nice activities are: Museum of TV and Radio in BH, Barneys Department store, (and adjacent Saks and Niemen's), cool shops on north Robertson Blvd (near Beverly Blvd) like Kitson.

Melrose Avenue -- good people watching, interesting shops, and possible star sightings.

Venice Boardwalk -- good people watching.

Rodeo Drive -- good people watching (may see some stars).

Burke Williams in Santa Monica -- nice spa location.

3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica -- good people watching and good shopping.

Why do people continually recommend the 3rd street Promenade in Santa Monica?

It's dirty, has no good stores, and is full of scummy looking people, street vendors and beggars.

I was at the 3rd Street Promenade last week and I found nothing distastful about it. Went there on 4 different days and enjoyed the people and activities and shops.
