Hi, I am looking to book a hotel in Times Square for New Years Eve 2002 and wanted to find out the names of the best hotels in that area. Especially, If we can watch the ball drop from our room window!! Please Advise.

Probably the Marriott Marquis, but you may be too late. Many times the good romms book up a year in advance.

What about the Hilton in Times Square? Is that a good location? There is nothing available at the Marriott Marquis. Any other hotel suggestions?

The Novotel or the Doubletree Suites might work.

You cannot see the ball drop from the Hilton Times Square hotel. To see the ball drop you have to be north of 43rd Street on Broadway or 7th Avenue. The Hilton is on 42nd St between 7th and 8th Avenues
