What can we do between Red Sox games in Fort Myers?

My husband and I will be going to Red Sox spring training for the first time this March. We have tickets for two games on the same day, March5th, at 1:05pm, and later at 7:05pm at the City of Palms Park, Fort Myers. We will have some free time between games, and we were looking for suggestions on what to do during this time. We'll more than likely be hungry so some restaurant suggestions would be helpful... or maybe there are other sights others can recommend for us to visit. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

bellluna, Are you doing the split schedule games? or is the Yankees game? We are going on to see them play the Twins. I think your day will be a LONG day Bell Tower shops on s, Tamiami, have some really good restaurants, Bistro 41, Blueponte, Bacchus, Amicis and Taste of New York. We have been to them all, and was just at Bistro 41 on Friday. Since you have a little time, maybe just a leisurely late lunch or early dinner(no earlybird ;-)) would be best. They all have lovely outside eating places, That is what I would do. Both parks, Twins and Sox's food are very basic fare IMO. If you need any more info, I will be glad to help anyway I can. Judy

Bella, my husband and I are going to the March 4 game. We could not get Yankees tkts for the Sox, but we did get Twin/Yankee tkts ;-). Still think you should have a nice leisurely early dinner/late lunch at Bluepointe, great calamari and chowder. Judy

Blue Pointe is a great new restaurant in Fort Myers. Superb fresh fish, simply prepared and amazing bread and gorgonzola coleslaw. There really aren't many restaurants worth patronizing near the City of Palms park. Enjoy the games. LMF

One thing you can do is go to church and pray that the Sox DO NOT trade for ARod!!!!
Okay, trade Manny for someone but KEEP Nomar!!!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. We will be going to 2 games in one day... Blue Pointe sounds like our first choice...

Unfortunately we do not have Yankees tickets for the 3/7 game. Might try our luck with a ticket agency or ebay. For those of you who have gone to spring training, do you find any people selling tickets outside of the park (scalpers)?

John: LOL. The whole ARod deal really seemed to go awry.... Millar certainly got in the thick of it when he said he'd rather be throwing to ARod... Nomar is just a gentleman through and through. He sure got pounded late last year, but I think he is great.

Yes, they have scalpers, maybe it is best to try e-bay. They had standing room only for the Yankees when my husband was in line to buy tkts. Judy
