Westin Times Square

Has anybody stayed at this hotel? Or can anyone give me some info on it?

What's it like? Is it in a good location? What type of crowd does it cater to ie younger, older, teen? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks : )

LOTS of mostly positive reviews on tripadvisor

Evidently everyone wants a corner room on a high floor

It was pretty nice. Recently had completed a renovation. It is clean and serviceable. Located in the theater district, so pretty safe. Mixed crowd. Staff was helpful. Concierge was knowledgeable and effective. I think it is very well priced relative to its location in NYC.

I moved there from the W New York Times Square, which was overpriced, too small and way too impressed with itself.

One complaint is they screwed up my bill. The clerk told me I was lying when I told him the rate charged was wrong. Made me go back upstairs, get my computer, pay $10 at the business center to print the confirmation from my email, and give them a copy of the confirmation. I wasted a half-hour because some clerk's head was in a place where the sun didn't shine.

The next day, I sent an email to Starwood complaining about the error. The complaint was forwarded to the manager. The manager emailed me extending apologies and a promise to talk to the clerk, nothing else. It took a second email saying that apologies and best wishes was an unacceptable solution. I now have a free upgrade to a suite, which is a cheap solution since I make it to NYC maybe once every 3 to 4 years. I will probably stay there if the coupon is still valid.

Stayed at the Westin TImes Square last year--. Had agreat experience (except that I left my video camera in the cab and it took off).
I thought our room was quite a good size for NYC hotels. We were on the corner , so that may make a difference. We had views in 2 direction. Great, comfy beds, etc. Rooms are decorated in a more modern look - mostly dark grays and whites. Location I thought was good for proximity to Times Square (1 block off). I have heard mixed reviews about the location as far as being safe, however, I never felt unsafe.
