West Virginia

Are there any nice resorts or just nice hotels in a area to vacation in West Virginia. We would probably be going next August. Guys like to play golf and I am trying to complete my 50 states. Thank You

If you can afford it, try the Greenbirier. http://www.greenbrier.com/

How many more for you? I have 1 more to go (Hawaii).

A few years ago my husband & I stayed at the Stonewall Jackson resort. My husband is a golfer and really enjoyed the course. I liked the spa and especially enjoyed the nightly bonfire and the boat ride around the lake.
It's a beautiful resort and I found the buildings and grounds immaculate. We've been trying to figure out how to get back there.

The Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown, WV is close to several courses and has a wonderful restaurant. Shepherdstown itself is a lovely small town with lots of restuarants and shops on the main street, German Street. It's also close to Harper's Ferry if you're a Civil War buff and there are several scenic hikes in the area.

Thanks everyone. This really helps me get started. I have 8 to go. I'm doing Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey in October. Michigan, Arizona, Hawaii, and Alaska will be left! Oh, and West Virginia
