weekly summer rental

I keep hearing that the weekly summer rental for homes is at an all time low.

Does anyone know where to find a decent deal for a one week rental on the Jersey shore?

Amy help appreciated.

I can't vouch for that annual rumor but I have had great luck with Grace Realty in Ocean City, NJ. All of the realtors have great internet access and most are willing to negotiate with the owners on last-minute prices.

Coastal North Carolina rentals have been low as well. Where once oceanfront cottages were all rented out for the summer by mid-Spring I find many homes easily available for rental during prime weeks in the summer. This may be a national downturn in vacation rentals.

I use LBI realty.

www.lbirealty.com

They handle a lot of properties on Long Beach Island.

Prices were on the rise 5-10% per year for a couple of years - don't know if they have leveled off or dropped for 2008.

I would definitely recommend the Ocean Club in South Mantoloking. It's right on the private beach and they have an Olympic size heated swimming pool.
