website for train help from Paris to Amsterdam
Could someone tell me if there are discounts offered if traveling from Paris to Amsterdam by train? Is there more than one option (besides the fast train)? If I want to pre-purchase,is there a particular website?
Thanks in advance.

To purchase tickets for delivery in the U.S. before you travel, the website is:
www.raileurope.com
There are a couple of lower fare offerings for roundtrip travel, although not as low as for certain fares offered in Europe. The Thalys train may be your best option, all things considered.

Deb0402,
You will indeed find TONS of info on the Europe board (do a search).
RailEurope is NOT the place for train info - in this particular case, you can check out:
www.thalys.com
for schedules, fares and bookings.
Hope this helps,
Andre

If you are under age 26 you are eligible for about 1/2 off on Thalys. (the "Jongre" fare). Also look for the Smiley's fare if you are returning to Amsterdam. The RT is cheaper than a one-way. Of course it is possible to take the slooooow trains too via Brussels but this takes many many hours.
www.ns.nl -the Dutch national trains website-is also useful

Chris,
Deb seems to be leaving from Paris, so www.thalys or www.sncf.com would be more helpful.
