I'm leaving for Kauai on Friday and then travelling to Maui on Independence Day. The weather forecast says there's a 30% chance of rain most days, but the end of the 10-day forecast calls for 60% chance. My question is even if it does rain is it likely to be a quickly passing thing or do you think it will rain a good chunk of the day?

when you're in paradise what's a little shower during the day?? Have a great trip - you can't but have a good time.

If it rains, it will most likely rain only on the windward side of the island, usually in the early mornings and evenings, but the rest of the island will be dry.

When we went to Maui in May, the weather called for rain every day. It didn't rain once. You really can't rely on the generic forecast because there are so many different climates in Hawaii. Have a wonderful time!!
