Weather in Kauai
I've been trying to check the weather for the week of May 3rd (in Princeville), but the two websites I've been checking are providing totally different info.
I'm just curious what the weather prediction is. Any suggestions for an accurate website?

No. Not at all.
Ya pays yer money, yah takes yer chances!
Seriously, The Weather Channel was incorrect about 90% of the time this last trip in Dec/Jan. Ditto Accuweather.
The local paper wasn't much better.
Screwed up our plans a few times....that and the chickens, bugs, rude people and no nightlife.
But after all the years I've been there conducting my extensive research into the reason why people can actually like Kauai you have to just remember, you're on a rock in the middle of the Pacific and the weather can change in the blink of a Menehune's eye.
Plan accordingly, make sure you are there with a person you REALLY love and "Hang Loose Sistah"!

Good luck, tho.

Our north shore weather is _finally_ in full-Spring mode -- by early afternoon we're at 85 degrees or so; overnight temps are only dipping down to the upper 70s.
As I sit here at 7:26 this Tuesday morning, the pali (mountains) are clear, big puffy clouds are slowly drifting across the bright blue sky, the palm trees are just barely swaying...ahhhhhh! 8-)

We get tons of rain...every day...all day, all night...miserable weather...can't ever go to the beach...<wave to Kal>
Just kidding!
Weather is turning wonderful here again -- we've had an incredibly long, cold (by island standards anyway), wet winter and these warm days are a joy now. All year long we expect to have overnight rain -- but the days are now sunnier, and the clouds only bring those quick passing showers which keep our north shore so lush and green.
Here's a good weather site for north shore Kaua`i -- accurate enough, that I use it for my radio show's weather reports:

And a BIG WAVE back to you Auntie M
Do predictors at wunderground have a window?
All I can say is that there are no guarantees on the weather on Kauai, no matter what website you choose.
Just make sure you have a Plans B, C and D...and the wipers on your rental car are in good shape and the windshield fluid is full.

www.hawaiiweathertoday.com has good Hawaii weather info. It focuses on Maui, but also has some info about other islands. I also use the NOAA website.

Mary,
Weather was lovely last week when I was there(April 19 - 26). I personally witnessed NO rain (but then, I sleep in), just blue skies, warm temps and breezes--oh, and the full moon at night was a nice touch. Enjoy!
PS: Kal's not kidding about the sunscreen!

We just returned today from 2 fabulous weeks on Kauai's North Shore. Weather was fantastic our entire stay. (April 15-30) Had a 10 minute shower one afternoon while we were sitting at the top of Sleeping Giant. Other than that it was blue skies 90% of the time making it even harder than ever to return to PA. Nothing left of this vacation except fond memories and a fading tan. I'll be posting a trip report as soon as I adjust to waking up to an alarm clock rather than roosters crowing.
