"DO NOT ACCEPT HELP FROM SOMEONE HOVERING NEAR THE TURNSTILE. There are scam artists who wait at popular stations to help you, switching cards with you through slight of hand, pocketing your fully-loaded card, and returning to you an empty card."

Ellenem, just like you were looking into a crystal ball... While in line for a metrocard, my boyfriend pointed out this very person. He was actually asking each person if they had an extra dollar, but at the same time attempting to "help" each one... It took us 3 machines before we got our card. The signs kept saying CASH, but when we got up to it, they said NO CASH. Finally at the machine that works, the stranger made his approach. I turned to him and told him that all I was trying to do was to figure out what I needed to do at the machine. Told him we didn't have any extra money and that was enough for him to leave that area altogether. Had I not been warned ahead of time, I may not have been prepared to handle the situation.

Once on the subway, it was pretty packed so we had to stand...i let my son know that he needed to hold on to that post. Instead, since he knows everything already, he was bracing his feet and believed he could use some kind of force field to stay his position... NOT SO!!! As soon as the subway took off... That's when I saw my son flying backwards...i can compare it to a scene in the poltergeist movie when the girl gets sucked into the tv... There was nothing I could do... Luckily, the subway was packed and he didn't get too far before falling into someone that helped him regain his balance. I didn't have to tell him a second time to hold on... And when we got back on after the ferry, i saw there was a seat available. There was only one so I had my son sit on my lap. He reached over across the lady sitting next to us so that he could hold on to the post next to her.

Many, if not most, people who enjoy traveling will save for a year or more for a next trip. If you can, start a small savings account. My husband and I do this and we are able to take a trip every other year. In a year or two, the YouTube star may not be as important as some new thing. And Australia is super long to get to and very expensive. The flights alone will make your hair curl!

I'm glad you had a good time and enjoy planning your next trip!

Yes, I'm realizing Australia may not become a reality...

I posted some shorts on YouTube. Niagara falls, enchiladas, grand central station. .

Keep on eye on my hair...my goodness that humidity is horrid!!!bythe last day, I think I gave up on my hair.
