Water temps: Gulf vs Atlantic - May in Florida

Thinking about a trip to Florida in May. I believe I've heard that the Gulf side is warmer than the Atlantic side. Is this correct?

Is there a good website for comparing water temps?

In May, the water at both sides will be nice. The Gulf may be a little warmer, but the Atlantic side that time of year will be warm also.
The real difference is in the waves.
The Gulf is more of a tranquil, flat water, while the Atlantic is your typical ocean waves. Just depends on what you're looking for.

In winter Atlantic side, particularly SE coast, is significantly warmer than Gulf. In summer Gulf is a little warmer. In May it is pretty even.
