Can you take a water bottle in all theme parks at DisneyWorld. I read somewhere you cannot take any coolers to Animal Kingdom, but I assume you can take a water bottle.

Usually a water bottle is just fine.
I always take a canvas bag and put snacks and water in it.

Yes, waterbottles are allowed at WDW. Straws are not allowed at Animal Kingdom, for the safety of the animals.

Also, you can request a cup of ice whenever you order food -then put the ice in your waterbottle. It doesn't take long for the water to get too warm to be pleasant.

I believe in freezing a couple bottles of water. In Florida they will melt about as fast as you'll want to drink it, but the water will be nice and cold.

We just went to Magic Kindgom yesterday and brought our own water with no problems. Bring at least one because water it so terribly expensive to buy, which can add up. Like another poster suggested..you can get ice and more water from a fountain.

Also, i did see people with small coolers on their strollers. I'm not sure what exactly they had in them, but ice and water be smart.

we've brought a soft cooler with water and snacks into all of the wdw parks.

Yes, the water from the drinking fountains is potable, as in the rest of the USA, and there is never any need to BUY drinking water. good heavens!!

But what about that icky city water taste. I'd much rather spend $2.50 - $3.00 per 20oz bottle than subject my children to chemicals like chlorine. (then complain about the cost)

I remember a similar thread from about 6mo ago where somebody wanted to bring a case or two of bottled water in their checked bags to Orlando. They weren't sure how to get bottled water in Florida and estimated it'd be $50/day to fill up the twins' bottles buying on site.

It's a wonder how I ever survived my childhood without Evian, Dannon, Poland Spring or Dannon at the ready!

Glass containers will be confiscated - at least at the water parks - where people are walking around with bare feet. We used the brita Fill 'n go filtered water bottles(purchased on ebay) - REI also sells filtered water bottles, which helped with the taste. Water does vary in taste from region to region.

If you are driving, it may be worth a stop at the Kissimmee Wal-mart to get cases of bottled water, if you so desire.

teriberi, we just returned from a week in Orlando. Disney's website states that small coolers are allowed. They are also allowed in Universal. We carried in waters/Gatorades and snacks each day. Security checked our bags, noticed the contents, and waved us on in.

We carry our frozen water, refilling as we go, a frozen juice pack, and granola bars; this all fits in a little shoulder pack. Then we leave in the afternoon and go out to dinner, hungry after a lot of screaming! I've never objected to city water taste, except in New Orleans, where it tasted like sulphurous dirt. (But I wouldn't dream of buying water, except for the bottles! U.S. H2O is the best! Something, along with telephones, we really do well...)

I may sound like I'm coming across as cheap, but I've even gone as far as packing p&j sandwiches, drinks, and healthy snacks and loaded them up in the stroller when going to Disney when the kids were little. We could stop anywhere to rest and grab a bite rather than having to get in line to buy food which was IMO a little too greasy and pricey. We did buy popcorn and juice bars. I don't pack food now as the kids are too old for the stroller. Food gets mushed up inside a backpack.

When I was at Disney World in summer of 2001 and 2002...the water from the drinking fountains...was wet but smelly. Hydration was a must so I did what I had to...a combo of bringing,buying,asking for free cup (at the counter) and the public fountain.

offlady, you are not being cheap at all - I think the same way. Why waste money on the expensive food and drink items when you can make it yourself a lot cheaper, and the money you save may just be enough to stay another day longer somewhere.

ipod, bottled water isn't safer or cleaner than tap water and some cases, the opposite.
