Washington State Olympic Peninsula Trip
I am looking for a place to stay for about 4 days in mid June of this year that would be a good base for exploring the Olympic Peninsula. We like to hike and sightsee. Thanks for any ideas.

Port Angeles is a small town that has a lot of accommodations and restaurants, and is close to Hurricane Ridge and Lake Crescent. From there you can also drive to the other parts of the National Park like Hoh Rainforest and Rialto Beach.
If you want to stay in the Nat'l Park itself, there's a lodge at Lake Crescent.

If you like a place with a beautiful setting, you can't do better than Lake Crescent Lodge, and it is well situated for seeing all parts of the park: www.lakecrescentlodge.com

We stayed at the Sol Duc Hotsprings. Its a short drive from the main road off Lake Cresent, but totally worth it. They have hotel rooms or individual cabins along a sulpher spring on the Sol Duc river. Lots of hikes in that area, once that starts at the campground near the resort.

We based at Kalaloch in the beachside cabins several years ago and enjoyed it. The park is enormous and it does require some driving to get around. We wanted to be near the water-it was modest, with kitchen, restaurant on the premise. Perfect for our family.
